The city of Daegu is the fourth largest city in Korea with a population of about 2.5 million people. Despite Daegu’s size, there are very few tourist attractions to speak of. Bullo-dong Tomb Park is one of these.
The tombs at this park are thought to be of the ruling class during the 5th or 6th century. The tombs were excavated and studied in the 20th century. There are about 210 tombs scattered along a hillside. They range in size from 15-20 meters in diameter and up to 4 meters in height.
It only takes 20 minutes to casually walk around the entire park. There isn’t anything else to do there unless you plan to have a picnic in the shade of one of the trees.
Sitting at my desk and looking back, I can only recommend visiting Bullo-dong Tomb Park for those people who have a lot of time explore Korea such as foreigners living in Korea. Those who are on a tight schedule and trying to see the best of what Korea has to offer will want to pass on this one.
